Points of interest on the above photos. You can tell that the above rifle was manufactured to 1914 standards in that it has 2 recoil lugs, the original
1892 only had the front, the rear was a later design addition. Also, it can be seen that the front barrel band has a notch for a cleaning rod but the stock
does not have a channel nor does the stock show signs that a previous channel was filled. This indicates the stock was manufactured after it was decided to remove
cleaning rods from the carbines, which once again post dates a standard Mle92.
